Cozumel |
The largest island in the entire Riviera Maya. It is so large, it has its own airport and is one of the stops of many cruise routes in the Caribbean.
Cozumel is the favorite destination for lovers of water sports, divers and fans of nature, as it protects very important reefs, has several natural parks and is the habitat of many species of fish,
This island is located near the city of Playa del Carmen and to get there you have two options: by plane (there are low cost airlines such as good prices to fly from Cancun) or taking a ferry in Playa del Carmen.
Dedicate at least 3 days to Cozumel, as the island offers you a huge amount of beaches such as the busiest San Francisco beach and the beautiful and lonely Santa Maria, as well as impressive ecological parks such as Chankanaab and Punta Sur.
In the Chankanaab national park you will have the possibility of diving, swimming with dolphins and spending the day in one of the most beautiful beaches of Cozumel. In addition, this place is ideal for children as it offers several children's activities. For its part in Punta Sur you can see the lighthouse, see exotic fish and birds and even visit the Sanctuary of Crocodiles.
And so we end this tour through the main islands of Cancun and the Riviera Maya. I hope you liked it and that you are encouraged to visit them on your next trip, I assure you that you will not regret it. I invite you to visit my blog if you want to know more places to visit in Cancun, in addition to these 4 spectacular islands.
As final recommendations, I recommend you take sunscreen, sunglasses and snorkeling equipment, as well as of course the camera and all the desire you have to enjoy and discover these impressive places.
And finally remember to conserve and take care of the beaches, vegetation and animal species of these islands, since these destinations receive you to give you the best of them and it is in your hands to conserve them.
