Is one of the largest islands in the Mexican Caribbean and is located a little far from Cancun, heading north.

Getting to Holbox requires a little time if you are in Cancun, since you must first cross the road until you reach the Port of Chiquilá, where you can take a ferry that will take you to the island.

 The atmosphere in Holbox is relaxed and calm, in the middle of the colorful streets and the beauty of its beaches, so I recommend you, if you count on time, a visit of 3 or 4 days. As a curious fact I tell you that this island is called "the hippie island".

In it, there are practically no cars since the means of transport used by locals and tourists are bicycles, small golf carts or walking on foot.

In addition to enjoying its beaches, you can try a delicious lobster pizza, a specialty of the region, and if you like adrenaline you can swim with the 18-meter whale shark, one of the main attractions of Holbox (This is done in the months from May to September).

Another tour that I recommend in this destination, is the visit to “the three islands”, where in just one day you can bathe in the beautiful beaches of Isla Pasión, know the Yalahau water eye cenote (famous for its medicinal waters) and the Birds island.

And if that were not enough, in the darkest nights it is possible to observe an incredible night show, since the sea the sea is illuminated with bioluminescence, a phenomenon that comes from thousands of organisms that are in the water.
